Qualifications:

 

·         You will ideally be AAT Level 3 qualified or above or nearing completion

·         2 years’ experience

·         Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations

·         Competent on accounting software

 

The role:

 

This accounts based role will support the Head of Finance and its Management Team through preparation and communication of timely financial and management information, demonstrating team and individual performance against budgets, forecasts, targets and margins.

 

You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all necessary control processes to avoid risk of financial loss.

 

You will provide a range of effective and efficient support services to internal and external customers to ensure smooth operation, legal compliance and customer satisfaction.

 

The Finance team deliver outstanding support to our business and customers throughout the week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08.30 - 17:00, however flexibility to meet the needs of the business is essential and is especially true around month end.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Responsibility for day to day workloads for two Accounts Assistants

·         Maintain minimum 8 week rolling cash flow forecast

·         Daily reconciliation of cash book and bank accounts

·         Ensure checks & controls over all outgoing payments

·         Management and data entry of all aspects of purchase ledger including validation of all purchase invoices, reconciliation of supplier statements, and supplier payment scheduling

·         Management of all aspects of raising & issuing Sales Orders, and Sales Invoices

·         Management of companywide credit card expenditure

·         Preparation of month-end journals (prepayments, accruals, other debtors / creditors, asset movements, depreciation)

·         Prepare and submit information to statutory authorities including HMRC

·         Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet lines

·         Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts in accordance with Group deadlines

·         Prepare monthly report on Actual vs Budget variances

·         Prepare monthly Cash flow statements

·         Assist with co-ordinating all aspects of preparation of annual year-end Accounts

·         Review company internal controls

 

Key Skills, Characteristics and Experience:

 

·         Competent on accounting software and MS Excel

·         Ability to demonstrate strong personal integrity, confidence and discretion

·         Ability to meet tight deadlines

·         Hard working

·         Able to challenge the status quo and drive through changes

·         Diligent with strong attention to detail

·         Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations.

·         Good understanding of business as well as financial issues

·         Sound decision making
