Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 + benefits
Qualifications / previous experience required
· Part qualified or qualified by experience Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
· Intermediate/Advanced level Microsoft packages
· Exceptional attention to detail – Working with large amounts of data
· Analytical Agility - Experience of resolving data integrity issues and working with non-finance staff to improve data
· Good Team player across finance, admin and wider operations environment
· Ability to work with accuracy to fast close deadlines
· Flexible and open attitude within a changing business environment
· Able to remain focused and calm during periods of high workloads and short deadlines
Role Purpose
· The main purpose will be to assist in management accounting activities, analyse costs, revenues, statistical KPI data and support finance compliance
· The role is expected to both support and challenge Financial Performance of the Business and assisting the decision makings process within the business
· The role must always maintain integrity particularly with regard to financial policies, procedures and external standards and regulations
· Strong 3-way communication should be maintained between operations, commercial and finance management and staff
Accountabilities
· To assist the Finance Business Partner for the Budget and Forecast preparation for the area of their responsibilities in conjunction with local management - Production of accurate financial MI in agreed timescales
· Identify variances between ‘flash’, actuals, budgets and forecasts - Providing supporting evidence to enable to the variances to be investigated and to provide insightful explanations and commentaries on all areas of Financial Information and drive actions for improvement
· Period End To assist the Finance Business Partner in the production of the monthly management accounts, this will include the calculation of revenue and cost accruals
· Production of weekly ‘flash’ P&L. Provide full P&L and Balance sheet reconciliations for any accounts within their control, including variance analysis
· To produce any required information or business reporting as required by senior. To provide cover for or assistance to other Finance Colleagues, as required
· Complete any other ad-hoc duties as required finance staff, e.g. for the audits or once off analysis

Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire – A mix of office/home-based working is available
Hours of Work: 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 + benefits
