Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 DOE pro rata

Our clients developers impact millions of people every day through their range of software systems. They are looking for a talented and experienced DevOps architect to join their Architecture team.

 

The person will need to have 2+ years of commercial experience with Azure, who can demonstrate a real passion for cloud architecture, with a flexible and creative attitude, good communication skills and a strong work ethic.

 

Working within an existing team that is focused on creating a scalable and resilient cloud hosting model, the individual will have a workload covering (but not limited to):

 

·         Developing and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines

·         Automation of infrastructure and software rollout

·         Performance analysis and tuning

·         Security reviews and risk mitigation

·         Maintaining high availability of services

·         Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and advising how they can be used to improve the existing architecture

 

Experience and Skills Required:

 

·         Understanding of cloud architecture concepts and best practises

·         Experience with building resilient and fault tolerant solutions

·         Building secure networked solutions

·         Proven experience with Azure DevOps

·         A thorough understanding of Azure components. Key areas:

o AKS (scaling, resilience, management, security, monitoring and telemetry)

o Service Endpoints and Private Links

o Networking (Azure CNI)

o Containerisation

 

Advantageous

 

·         Nginx

·         Solid understanding of HELM & PowerShell

·         Blue/Green deployments via AKS

·         Infrastructure as Code/ARM templates

·         Bash/PowerShell/Azure CLI

·         Threat modelling

·         Azure SQL

o Strategies for high availability and disaster recovery

o Monitoring/scaling/automation

o Data factory

Personal Attributes:

 

·         Able to work well as an individual and as part of a team

·         Take part in architectural discussions with technical / non-technical team members

·         Able to self-manage and self-motivate

·         An eye for detail and a desire to adhere to best practices

·         Strong inter-personal and communication skills

·         Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

·         Have a desire to keep up with the latest tools and techniques
