Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
This role is responsible for the detailed functional analysis of requirements for internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with Product Design & Delivery, Solution Architecture and the Development Teams, the Business Analyst will gather requirements, specify and document solutions.
The individual should possess sufficient technical and analytical understanding so as to effectively gather requirements with detailed consideration of constraints. They should possess excellent business analysis skills and should be capable of extracting undocumented information from clinical and technical staff so as to document essential business logic. This role requires excellent customer facing communication skills.
The main responsibilities of the post are:
· Work with project stakeholders, including 3rd parties, to identify, model and then document their business requirements and business domain details
· Study the systems and operations and identify the scope of the problem
· Requirements gathering with customers and third-party partner companies
· Liaise with key stakeholders and conduct brainstorming sessions to get exact requirements
· Analyze the problem from different angles. Perform Gap analysis of existing solutions and target requirements
· Document exact business needs along with both functional and non-functional requirements
· Prepare use cases, business requirements documents (BRD), system requirements specification (SRS) documents and other functional documents
· Utilise structured requirements analysis/design methods and processes to ensure efficient and effective delivery for software developments in an Agile environment
· Based on system needs, create high-level mockups and screens
· Interpret user needs and requirements by carrying out stakeholder analysis, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, survey's, site visits, business process defining, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
· Interact with the technology team and help them understand the business workflow aspects of the solution
· Work with the development Product Owners to specify acceptance criteria and ensure dependencies are met
· In addition to the above, the RTE is responsible for any other activities in support of the business which can reasonably be expected to fall within the capabilities of the employee
Essential requirements
· Degree or equivalent
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong business analysis and requirements analysis experience
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for software business analysis
· Experience of working in an agile environment or within a structured team
· Experience working in a customer-facing role
· Excellent stakeholder management skills combined with a flexible and adaptable approach in order to achieve successful stakeholder satisfaction
· Proven experience of working in an agile development environment with Product Managers and Developers to create new digital products and services
· Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
· Self-Driven with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Excellent time-management skills
Desirable
· Experience of gathering user requirements for web and mobile-based services
· Experience working with clinicians and health professionals
· Knowledge of Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development environments
· Understanding of health and social care software systems
· Excellent data-handling experience including, but not limited to, advanced Excel, SQL and XML
