Salary: £21,400



In the role of Stock Controller, you will report directly to the Inventory and Systems Manager and form an integral part of the management team. Your primary objective is to achieve and maintain stock file accuracy whilst ensuring all systems within the DC are used effectively to deliver desired service levels and productivity.

 

Responsible for:

 

·         Carrying out investigations as instructed by the Inventory and System Manger to ensure an accurate stock file is maintained within the Distribution Centre

·         Ensuring warehouse systems are maintained accurately to ensure an efficient DC operation

·         Working with the operations team to ensure all Inventory procedures are followed to reduce stock loss and stock inaccuracy

·         Accurate reporting on all stock movements and balances, including goods in, out, returns, failed deliveries, and replenishments

 

Skills & Experience(Minimum Requirements)

 

·         Experience; Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, distribution and supply chain role

·         Strong operational knowledge including understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and stock management tools

·         Confident in the gathering, cleansing & summarising of data for presentation in numerical, graphical or report formats

·         An eye for detail is required to identify where processes have not been adhered to

·         Strong computer literacy: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills to write reports and produce statistics on stock loss

·         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·         Ability to effectively communicates issues and direction to colleagues and senior stakeholders

·         Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards

 

Desirable

 

·         Reach FLT / Counterbalance / PPT license preferred but not essential as training will be provided – so you must be prepared to train in this

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Responsible for identifying where processes in inbound and outbound within the DC have not been followed to enable the appropriate teams to rectify issues and retrain colleagues

·         Tracking stock movements, including goods in, despatches, returns, failed deliveries and internal transfers ensuring stock is always visible on the system

·         Carrying out Perpetual Inventory counts and stock takes to meet requirements of internal and external audit

·         Identifying opportunities to maximise space and optimising pick locations

·         Daily usage of both CoinSys and WMS, ensuring integrity of our data at all times

·         Liaise directly with Senior Managers, Finance team, Buying & merchandising team, QC and suppliers in relation to standard operating procedures and processes for stock management and systems maintenance

·         Maintenance of all product data within the warehouse on CoinSys and WMS (Warehouse Management System), ensuring stock is aligned to the master data file created by the Buying Team

·         Provide feedback to managers on issues impacting stock management and system usage

·         Follow health and safety guidelines, operating at all times in a safe and effective manner
