Our client is seeking a Graduate Analytics Trainee who is looking to start a career in the fast-paced environment healthcare analytics. The role is permanent, and it involves working with a highly experienced and passionate to expand the Population Health Analytics team supporting a wide range of health and care organisations to improve the health of their populations.
The Population Health Analytics team support a wide range of regional and national projects to improving the health of the population. The current worldwide COVID-19 crisis has proved that utilising timely data and insight can help save lives. The team has been in the thick of things developing analytics solutions to help manage the crisis. The team are highly experienced and passionate about health and care; using technology to help improve the health and care of the nation. This role provides the successful candidate the chance to contribute to Population Health Analytics programmes throughout the country.
The role is part of an existing 18-month graduate training programme. You will rotate between our Analytics development, Quality assurance and Analytics consultancy and Research / Data Science teams to enable the post holder to develop a range of skills and establish their future career path with the organisation. The person will be required to take on a variety of analytics tasks including software development, quality assurance, data analysis and building data visualisations. We are looking for individuals who learn quickly, have a passion for health and care and have enthusiasm for working in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Population Health Analytics is a huge growth area for our client. We have customer solutions holding billions of records and use entirely cutting-edge Microsoft Azure cloud technology to deliver our services.
The role will require the individual to be flexible and may involve travel to customer sites within the UK.
Key responsibilities:
· Creation of Population Health Analytics software using the Microsoft Azure toolkit
· Creation of data visualisations using Microsoft Power BI
· Data analysis
· Quality assurance of Population Health software
· Validation of customer data
· Customer support
· Supporting Data Scientists and research projects
Experience (Required)
· A Bachelor’s Degree in related subject
· Understanding of analytics technology such as SQL, databases and business intelligence tools
· Statistical analysis techniques
· Working in a team
Experience (Desirable)
· Practical experience using Python or R
· An understanding of health or social care informatics
· Skills in database design and development including writing SQL queries
· Experience and knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Factory
· Practical experience of modern data visualisation tools e.g. Microsoft Power BI
· Experience of working with customers to design analytics applications such as dashboards and reports
· Experience in other development languages and technical standards such as JavaScript, JSON, D3, C# .Net
· Master’s degree in related subject (desirable)
