Salary: starting £20,000, up to £21,000 after 6 months, £22,500 after 1 years’ service
Our client is a software development company that provides solutions to the healthcare IT market. Exciting times for the client as they are expanding their business and growing rapidly.
The Internal Technical Services (ITS) Team are responsible for the installation and support for all Technical Platforms, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems and associated products delivered internally to the organisation.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Junior IT Engineer will work alongside specialists within the Team, taking responsibility for all aspects of the ITS Team’s work. With emphasis on the Technical Services function, the role will involve providing general IT support for multiple stakeholders via telephone, e-mail and also in person. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who has a passion for IT or someone looking for an entry level support role in IT. The ideal candidate will be someone who wishes to grow and learn in the role, who is hard-working and focussed.
The Junior IT Engineer will work closely with the numerous departments in the business, ensuring that our comprehensive support service is maintained and therefore sustaining the strong interdepartmental relationships that have been forged to date. The successful candidate will be provided with training to assist in their development and success in the role.
Essential:
· Some experience in the support of IT systems in a controlled environment
· Understanding of computing fundamentals
· Comfortable in troubleshooting software and hardware issues
· GCSE / College Leaver or equivalent
· Professionalism and a willingness to work under close guidance and supervision
· Excellent:
- Verbal and Written Communication Skills, in order to successfully explain IT concepts to non-technical colleagues at all levels of the business
- Demonstrable Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills
- Documentation Skills, producing guides and supporting knowledgebase articles
- Organisational Skills, with the ability to manage personal workloads in accordance with agreed timescales, whilst working under pressure

Any skills or experience in the technologies below would be considered an advantage but are not essential:
· IT support for 1 or more years
· IT Qualifications, such as CompTIA / A+, Network +, ITIL
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
· Microsoft Teams
· Video and Phone Conferencing
· Mobile Devices / Mobile Device Management
· Windows PowerShell Administration / Scripting skills

Duties & Responsibilities:
Basic Requirements:
· Assist with providing 1st and 2nd Line helpdesk support on a daily basis
· Responsible for ensuring that all IT Helpdesk requests are logged / triaged using helpdesk software
· Assist with the production of supportive user documentation
· Assist with the maintenance of our internal infrastructure and networks
· Responsible for escalating support requests to an appropriate team member as and when required
· Assist with ensuring that software updates and patches are applied to all devices in a timely manner
· Proactively react to any issues or problems detected whilst running antivirus software and taking the necessary remedial actions
· Responsible for the upkeep of the IT Asset Register, including hardware, software, audio visual and telephone systems
· Assist with the implementation of IT projects as and when required
· Contribute to the policing of IT quality standards throughout the business
· Assist the ITS Team by carrying out training duties as and when required
· Adherence to Company and Team Policies and Working Practices
· Involvement in office-cover rota, between 08:00 and 18:00, with commitment to work outside of these hours when required
· Contribute to the smooth running of an out of hours IT support rota
