Salary: £35,000 to £38,000
Main Objective
· To assist the Purchasing Manager in the purchasing of main raw materials required for Production.
· To assist the Purchasing Manager to manage the supplier base, controlling raw material prices, and manage the purchasing of utilities, and services.
Responsibilities:
· Processing all Purchase orders and managing schedules for aluminium extrusions and rolled products.
· Processing Orders and managing schedules for all main bought in items, chassis, Hydraulic cylinders, Weighing systems, Concrete products etc.
· Managing delivery schedules in line with production requirement.
· Making sure that all suppliers have call off spread sheets for relevant month’s raw materials and sub-assemblies’ requirement.
· Manage the supplier base, pricing structure and price negotiation.
· Manage the contracts and price negotiation for utilities, services, equipment maintenance contracts, etc.
· Dealing with one off contracts, relevant to specific projects and liaise with management for company requirements.
· Negotiate with smaller components suppliers to obtain best cost prices
· Liaise with stores department to make sure deliveries are in line with company requirements.
· Liaise with Suppliers and H&S Manager to ensure all deliveries comply with Company Health and Safety requirements.
· Responsible to: Purchasing Warranty Manager/Managing Director
· The job holder may from time to time have to carry duties which are not directly within his/her job description, as requested by the management.
