My client, a successful logistics company are seeking a European Planner (European Road Freight) to be based on their site near Milton Keynes in a Hybrid role. 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.
The job holder will be responsible for the effective planning and supervision of road shipments in accordance with strict operating procedures, ensuring optimum internal and external communication both with customer contacts and the network of approved hauliers.
Key requirements:
· Experience in road freight forwarding (EU road haulage would be a bonus)
· Transport Planning experience preferrable
· Logistics and Supply Chain experience
· Excellent administration skills
· Flexible approach and ability to prioritise
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
· MS Office knowledge
· Knowledge of any of the following languages (French, German, Italian, Swedish) would be advantageous
Key responsibilities:
Operations
· Managing effectively multiple road shipments, sharing relevant information as necessary providing operational support to other team members as required
· Evaluation of load configuration and cost comparison for proposed routing, utilising approved haulier’s for work based on cost
· Maximise all co-loading opportunities, escalate all missed opportunities after identifying the causes
· Adherence to GDP requirements for managing healthcare supply chains
Communication
· Provide clear and timely communication of proposed routing plans via Traffic Sheet – notifying sites of the proposed plan to agreed deadline to the customer base
· Ensure that supplier base (haulier network) are fully engaged in shipment requirements. Capturing all costs associated with the shipment control

Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Hybrid 2 days in the office, 3 days from home – Office is in Ridgmont, Bedfordshire

Hours of work: 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
