Salary: £30,000 to £34,000 depending on experience



Our client is a small team of 10 and everyone is hardworking and dedicated to the business. Majority of employees have been with the company for over 5 years, so if you are looking for longevity in your next role then this could be the role for you.

 

Our client are seeking an accounts assistant / assistant accountant who can eventually take over all the accounting function of the business up to trail balance and all day-to-day accounting tasks. The candidate should be finance graduate / ACCA / CIMA part qualified and with at least 2-4 years’ experience as bookkeeper / accounts assistant roles with a good communication skills, self-motivated, organised, hardworking, great attention to detail and strong ability to progress.

 

The key responsibilities would be account reconciliations, payables & receivables reporting, credit control, VAT returns, bookkeeping up to trial balance and other related tasks. Ideally to start in January 2023

 

Must Haves

 

·         Proficient in Xero and Excel

·         Finance graduate / ACCA / CIMA part qualified

·         Experienced bookkeeper

·         Confident communicator and self-motivated

·         Great attention to detail

·         Good analysis skills

·         Excellent time management

·         Previous experience with royalties would be an advantage

·         Experience working with a multi-currency environment would be helpful

·         Strong ability to progress into an advanced role with more responsibilities

·         Aiming to manage all accounting functions independently within 4-6 month

 

The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills and have at least 2-4 years’ experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include maintaining daily worksheets and the general ledger system, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and providing general administrative support to the management team & accounting department. We are looking for applicants who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong attention to detail. Applicants with experience and familiarity in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Month end responsibilities including account reconciliations and pay run

·         Management of accounts payable and receivable

·         Credit control & debt collection

·         Bank processing and reconciliation

·         Timely submission of VAT returns

·         Payroll process and submission

·         Overseeing royalty reporting across our slate of films

·         Bookkeeping using Xero accounting software up to the trial balance

·         Maintain and organise the necessary records/files

·         Other related duties as requested



Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Surbiton, Surrey – HYBRID, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home (once initial training is complete) – No parking on site but the office is 5–10-minute walk from the station

Salary: £30,000 to £34,000 depending on experience + benefits including time off for study / flexible working near exams

Hours of Work: 9.30am to 6.00pm (45–60-minute lunch)
