Salary: up to £42,000 + benefits
An opportunity has arisen to work within the Finance team of our clients established business.
The role will be to control and manage the financial accounting and reporting activities of the business.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years finance experience and be a self-starter who can work independently and in team environments.
The Role:
Key responsibilities:
· Preparing the monthly management accounts for first review
· Preparing and posting all expenses, payroll, prepayments, accruals, and other general ledger journal entries
· Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and posting monthly depreciation
· Monitoring company expenditure and raising POs in accordance with company procedure
· Preparing intercompany recharges and assisting inter-company related tasks
· Assisting in the production of year end statutory accounts
· Reconciling the Balance Sheet to ensure accuracy
· Daily Bank reconciliations
· Weekly cash flow reporting for current and future cash flow
· Overseeing credit control
· Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT return
· Evaluating the tax reclaim on fuel to feed into the VAT Return
· Posting and preparing Sales invoices
· Processing fortnightly expenses and suppliers BACs payments
· Helping with the preparation of all other legal returns, such as CT61, P11d and Share Options annual return
· Liaising with the Finance Analyst on monthly revenue recognition, order book reporting, third party cost of sales and related Balance Sheet reconciliations for revenue and associated third party costs activity
· Liaising with the Payroll Specialist on all payroll related reporting and associated Balance Sheet reconciliations
· Business Partnering with key Departments on their associated spend during the year, i.e., HR, Marketing, and Development
· Liaising with external parties for any queries that may arise, e.g. HRMC, Bank etc.
· Assisting the Finance Director in the production of budget and forecast
· Overseeing and training of the Accounts Assistant
Other responsibilities:
· Assisting in general office admin tasks
· Production of ad hoc management reports and involvement in projects as they arise.
· Holiday cover for other areas of Finance if needed.
Experience & Skills:
Qualifications:
The post holder ideally must have knowledge / experience of the below:
· Preferably CIMA/ACCA part qualified or AAT Qualified with 3 years post qualification experience in a similar role, or QBE equivalent will also be considered
Computer Skills:
· High level of IT literacy including Intermediate Excel (Essential) to manage existing spreadsheets as improve them, as necessary.
· Experience of using multi systems, knowledge of Xero and SharePoint is preferable
Personal Attributes
· Strong financial control skills and being able to work to deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance staff and communicate at all levels of the business
· Ability to lead and motivate the Accounts Assistant
· Strong ability to work without supervision
· Hands on team player within the Finance team and wider organisation.
· An ability to manage competing priorities in an effective and efficient manner.
