£25,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
The Quality Technician, within a limited area of production, is responsible for inspection and test of incoming materials, work in process, and finished goods to establish material quality and lot acceptance to specifications, along with operating relevant test equipment and input of related data into quality system databases and the generation of required reports. You will be working within the electronics industry assisting in creating leading edge products that are used by the world’s most recognizable automotive companies. This is a new full-time position in addition to the existing team reporting to the Quality Manager.
Applicant Requirements:
·Science/Engineering to at least A level / HNC / HND standard.
·Conscientious and thorough .
·Proficiency in MS Excel & MS Word required.
·Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·Ability to work with math and statistical equations as well as mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and graphical or chart interpretations.
·Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001/14001, IATF16949 and statistical concepts.
·Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, data analysis.
·Ability to work independently or in a team, as needed to meet goals.
·Demonstrable strong interpersonal skills.
·Detail oriented and highly organized.
·Flexible attitude.
·Ability to work from home (laptop provided).
Key Duties:
·Perform a variety of testing required for acceptance of incoming raw materials and manufactured materials in a timely manner.
·Laboratory tests on final products (e.g. viscosity, metal %, solder ball).
·Enter data into quality system databases to document and maintain test, inspection & calibration records.
·Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment to prevent contamination possibilities.
·Partner with technical support, manufacturing, quality engineers, as well as operations staff, to meet objectives.
·Inspecting finished product and authorizing it to be released to customers.
·Monitor and maintain quality metrics.
·Support company facilities with quality testing and controlling processes and manufactured products.
·Complying to strict health and safety procedures.
·Production of certificates of analysis.
·Monitor and maintain measurement lab equipment.
Other Duties:
·Update standard operating procedures.
·QC tests on raw materials and other products e.g. viscosity
·Statistical process control to aid batch to batch consistency.
·Participate in problem solving activities using 5W’s ,8D, Fishbone etc.
·Calibrate equipment.
·Support for customer complaints as required.
·Support for health, safety and environmental work as required.
