Senior Automation Test Analyst. Salary: to £65,000 per annum


Location: Homebased - with the expectation to travel to group office sites at least once per month, or as and when required for team collaboration days [Milton Keynes and Reading].

We are seeking a talented individual to join our QA team as a Senior Automation Test Analyst.


 


The ideal candidate is an experienced automation specialist with over 4 years of hands-on expertise in automation-oriented roles, specifically in web and mobile application testing. The candidate should have substantial experience using Playwright (with TypeScript) for web automation and Appium (with Java) for mobile automation. This role requires a strong understanding of automation testing frameworks, best practices, and methodologies to ensure high-quality software delivery.


 


The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing comprehensive automation testing strategies across various projects, including both on-premises and Azure-based environments


 


All candidates will need to demonstrate successful projects they have been involved with and will need to be able to hit the ground running, working closely with our QA Manager and Senior Automation Test Lead.


 


Knowledge of Health Care systems would be beneficial but not essential.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Practical experience in Playwright/Cypress based automation using Typescript (minimum 4+ years’ experience).

  • Practical experience in Appium based automation using Java (minimum 3+ years’ experience).

  • Experience in defining and automating system integration, system (regression) and E2E test cases.

  • Experience of front-end (UI) and back end (API & DB) automation.

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio Code/JetBrains Aqua IDEs.

  • Experience in testing applications with MySQL back-end.

  • Experience of working with structured data (Understanding of XML, JSON etc.).

  • Experience of using Continuous Integration tools such as Azure DevOps.

  • Experience in creating/modifying test data.

  • Performing occasional manual testing (Functional/Non-Functional) to support other teams during busy periods and contributing to test case design/implementation.

  • Good root cause analysis and collaboration skills for finding and resolving defects with developers.

  • Experience in design, implementation, and execution of Non-functional testing (load, performance, volume, stress, failover and scalability tests) using Grafana K6.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure stack.


 


 


Professional Qualifications:


ISEB/ISTQB qualification


Computing/IT related bachelor’s degree (desirable)
