Salary: £30,000 to £42,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits (see below)



As an experienced Software Developer you will work on web apps, websites and tools for high-profile firms. We are seeking brainy, innovative developers to join this tech-focused business that are fun, fast-growing, open and ambitious.

 

Responsibilities

 

·         The continuous delivery of high-quality software

·         Embracing the spirit of agile software development

·         Contribute ideas and direction to the development team

·         Peer-reviewing your fellow-developers’ work

·         Communicating clearly and constructively with internal and external clients and stakeholders

·         Helping to assess candidates for developer roles

·         Must-have technical skills

 

You’ll be an expert in most if not all of these:

 

·         HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, of course

·         PHP 7 (and ideally you’ll be handy with other server-side languages too)

·         MySQL

·         Git, and Github and / or Gitlab

·         Composer / NPM

·         OOP design patterns

·         Linux command line

·         Laravel, and/or Symphony 3, CodeIgniter 3, or other PHP MVC frameworks

·         PSR coding standards

·         In-depth understanding of web security

·         At least one of: React / Angular / Backbone / Vue.js

·         Scrum and / or Kanban agile development frameworks and practices

 

Nice-to-have skills

 

Ideally, you’ll be able to say “yes, that’s me” to more than a handful of these:

 

·         Nginx / apache / Linux administration

·         Docker / Chef

·         Webpack / Gulp

·         Amazon AWS including EC2, S3, RDS, ElasticBeanstalk

·         Bootstrap / Foundation

·         cURL / guzzle / web scraping / Phantom.js / Xpath

·         ElasticSearch / Mongo / other NoSQL databases

·         Memcached

·         Test-driven development / TDD

·         Designing and building awesome user interfaces

·         Experience working with large datasets

·         Experience of building highly-scalable web applications

·         Experience working in price comparison and/or affiliate marketing
