Salary: £18,000 to £19,000 DOE
We are not looking for a hard-core Credit Controller, what we ARE looking for is someone who is able to speak to people in order to ascertain a suitable repayment plan / period and empathise with customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Liaising with Operations Accounting to ensure client invoices are sent in a timely manner
Keeping an up to date contact list for clients, building a strong rapport to improve debtor days
Contact Clients to query unpaid invoices, liaising with Accountants to resolve any issues
Identifying Client receipts from the bank statements and allocating them correctly, in a timely manner
Follow the correct procedures for unpaid invoices, via telephone, letter and legal action as necessary
Liaising with internal and external individuals to deal with any issues, disputes, complaints or queries
Working with Managers with respect to invoices in preview state, and resolving any issues before final invoice generations
Generate and despatch statements and credit notes
Accepting and processing debit/ credit card payments on bank-line and posting receipts on Sage, and registering DD Mandates
Issuing suitable paperwork, ensuring voucher information and payment methods are accurately recorded
Respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality
Recommended Skills / Experience / Knowledge
Have a customer centred approach, promoting good working relationships to allow for the most effective defusing of tense situations as possible
Previous experience within a Customer Service/ Credit Control role
Strong and confident telephone manner - being able to act assertively, whilst remaining fair and ethical
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills
Be proactive, able to work off own initiative
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for criminal record disclosure to be undertaken.
