Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager your job purpose is to develop and motivate the Key Accounts department based within the International Freight Forwarding Division of this international client.
Enhance the service delivery to Key Account clients to ensure all service level targets are consistently achieved, and new business opportunities identified that increase margin contribution.
Deliver robust and efficient process solutions to internal and external customers.
Principle Accountabilities/Tasks
As a P&L owner for the Origin Cargo Management (OCM) activity within the IFF department of Logistics, you are responsible for delivering the following;
Service
• Responsible for ensuring the Key Accounts team execute all client service requirements on-time and accurately as set out in the client Standard Operating Procedures and Service-Level Agreements.
• Develop and maintain KPI’s that ensure consistent achievement of agreed company and client service-level targets.
• Work with client-nominated suppliers to ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
• Deliver measurable supplier service improvements both in terms of cost and performance.
• Work closely with the global network to resolve all inbound supply-chain issues.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer experience and service delivery are met at all times
• Work with stakeholders to identify and achieve cost-down and process efficiency improvements.
Team
• Manage and motivate the Key Account team responsible for planning approximately 800 consignments per week.
• Provide a programme of personal development, one-to-one support, including PDR’s for each team member.
• Provide weekly team briefs in line with company policy.
• Identify and nurture ‘talent’ with support from the Senior Operations Manager.
• Responsible for recruitment up to Team Leader level.
• Ensure all existing and new staff are trained appropriately in order to perform all duties required by the Company.
• Accountable for conducting Company disciplinary and grievance procedure as appropriate, demonstrating a fair and consistent approach.
Commercial
• Ensure all costs and revenues are accrued in the system on-time every week, and department files completed.
• Maintain all transactional tariffs with respective clients. Escalate any validity, tender or re-negotiation requirements to line manager.
• Report all service and accounting non-conformities in line with company policy
• Ensure compliance with company accounting rules and policy
• Monitor and report on profit/loss via the company Quicks reports
• Provide monthly reporting summaries to the senior management team
Corporate
• Accountable for ensuring valid Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are in place for all business handled by the Department.
• Accountable for ensuring all Department administrative functions are completed within agreed timescales and deadlines.
• Accountable for ensuring compliance with BIFA, RHA and UKWA terms, along with all Company policies.
• Promote a positive and supportive working environment equally for all members of the team.
• Any other duties reasonably requested by the Senior Management.
