As an experienced developer within this new and fast-growing team, you will use and develop the skills you have acquired, working closely with a sister team based in London on a wide range of projects across Europe.

 

Role description

 

This team comprises a group of specialists drawn from a wide range of different professional and technical backgrounds. If your background is in testing / development you will find opportunities to both grow your portfolio of skills and lead at what you do best. As a Lead Tester you will:

 

·         Provide hands-on technical team leadership to ensure software development test principles are understood and followed

·         Develop test plan strategy and direction of team’s output

·         Provide technical and strategic oversight and guidance

·         Build a dedicated test team, utilising experienced hires and outsourced resources to deliver robust and reliable testing

·         Contribute to individual area of expertise, work products and standards including hands-on testing

·         Generate efficient and effective test plans encompassing defining test approach (tools, techniques, environments) to meet product test requirements

·         Be tenacious in your pursuit of software quality, and ensure the team understands the importance of appropriate testing, automation, and software design

·         Ensure team’s understanding of business goals, priorities, and how they align with customer needs and business direction

·         Stay abreast of testing best practices, technology trends, tools and framework

·         Work collaboratively with the Engineering team

 

Demonstrable (must have) experience of the following is required:

 

·         Software development testing (typically at least 5 years)

·         In-depth knowledge of industry leading software testing tools

·         Evidence of test leadership (3 years +) i.e. defining and implementing test plans and strategies in the successful delivery of complex and challenging software products, and running an agile team or small team of test engineers

·         Complete understanding of technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field

·         Developing tests for functional and regression testing that include manual, automated, performance and ad-hoc testing

·         Experience of responsive cross-browser testing

·         Experience of working with Agile (Kanban and/or Scrum) delivery methodologies

·         Knowledge of web standards and experience testing REST based APIs

·         Additional desirable (nice to have) experience includes:

·         TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration and release management

·         Confluence and JIRA

·         Working with creative teams

·         Software development
