Salary: £24,500 to £28,500 DOE PLUS benefits + 25 days holiday PLUS Bank Holidays



My long-established client is seeking a Freight Forwarding / Import Coordinator to join their team in Rainham, Essex. A generous salary and fun team await an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Import Coordinator.

 

If you have 1 or more years’ experience working in an Ocean Freight role, are good at building relationships and are able to handle customer & network quotes / rate requests I would be interested in hearing from you.

 

Reporting to the Import Team Leader / Manager, you will be responsible for all operational aspects from start to finish, maintaining and developing assigned customers which include key accounts. You will need to take direct ownership of customer relationships and ensure all business is conducted with the highest level of customer service. A Key function for this role is a high level of accuracy to ensure correct sales/costs recorded within our company system.

 

You will be responsible for FCL and LCL coordination, and will have managed at least one key account customer.

 

DUTIES - Manage all operational aspects of your agreed customers to ensure that efficiency, customer service and financial performance is met and / or exceeded for both the customer and my client.

 

·         Arrange freight movement for customers & key accounts, including documentation, coordination of origin bookings, customs formalities and the overall scope of the door to door service.

·         Handle customer and network quotes / rate requests (previous experience in arranging quotes and recognise business opportunities is desired)

·         Communicate key milestone updates with customer effectively via verbal/email methods and proactively manage service deviations.

·         Processing of sales/purchase invoices.

·         Input of accurate data into company systems

·         Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational & financial procedures, and within statutory requirements

·         Maintain Customer profiles/SOP’s

·         Payment and surrender of charges and Waybills/Bill of Lading to Shipping Lines/Agents as required in order to obtain release of cargo

·         Investigate customer/management queries/claims. Follow up with respective parties and ensure customer is kept informed up until closure.

·         Complying with customer, management and HM Revenue and Customs deadlines

·         Focal point for company/customer in relation to assigned specific customers.

·         Find ways to measure customer satisfaction and improve services. Including bringing to management/account owners attention at risk customers.

·         Maintain supplier Non–Conformance Records (NCR) for both internal and external suppliers to ensure visibility and action in poor performing areas.

·         Customs knowledge is NOT essential to this role
