Description


Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 doe + benefits.

 

Thisrole would ideally suit someone who has spent time working in an NHS environment analysing and reporting on NHS data and would like to progress into a development role.

Required Experience:



  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of NHS health care informatics;


  • A minimum of 2 years hands on experience of using Microsoft SQL Server including the following:


  • Writing complex SQL


  • Reporting Services DBA


  • Integration Services


  • General DBA work including performance tuning;


  • Skills in relational database design and development;


  • Experience of designing and developing complex reports and reporting systems for end users;


  • Good customer liaison skills;


  • Ability to work on your own unsupervised as well as being an active team member;


 

Desired Experience:



  • A degree in a relevant subject;


  • Working with Microsoft Azure SQL and ADF


  • Developing key performance indicators, dashboards or scorecards;


  • Predictive analytics;


  • Clinically focused Dashboards;


  • NHS Informatics which includes Statutory NHS returns, Commissioning and CDS;


  • Working in a professional development environment using source control, agile development and coding standards;


 

As a member of the BI team, you will be expected to develop business intelligence solutions for health and social care.

The role encompasses all aspects of the Microsoft Business Intelligence toolset including SQL, Reporting Services, Integration Services and Analysis Services including SQL2014, SQL2016 and Azure cloud computing services.

Working with other product development teams and a team of Deployment Reporting Specialists to gather requirements to design and develop reporting solutions for our products.

 

Key responsibilities will include:



  • Planning and estimation of development tasks


  • Liaising with domestic and offshore development teams


  • Liaising with internal and external customers in the design and scoping of functionality including the investigation and resolution of software issue


  • Acting as a mentor to junior team members to improve their software engineering skills, domain knowledge and product knowledge


  • The role will also form part of the on call out of hours support rota for the BI team


  • Providing onsite customer consultancy as required
