The IT department consists of over 70 professional staff where you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside a number of different IT areas including Support, Business Analysts, Developers and Testers. The IT department underpins all of the business users and customers by providing leading edge solutions using the latest technologies including developing in Google Cloud.
There are 6 Agile scrum teams, each team has roughly 2-3 testers and within it a Senior QA - This role will be reporting to the Lead QA Analyst. You will be responsible for improving QA, working alongside Business Analyst's, technical leads and testers to create and review tests and acceptance criteria.
Essentials
· Agile QA processes and techniques
· Experience of testing in a cloud environment - they use google cloud but happy to see people with others
· Experience in an automated environment
About You– You will be expected to meet the majority of these requirements – If you are close to hitting on the mark on majority but not all bullet points below then please do still apply
· Demonstrable expertise in devising then executing Agile QA processes, tools and techniques
· Expertise in the use of automated test tools including load, stress and performance testing plus script automation
· Experience of testing in a cloud infrastructure preferably using Google Cloud Services
· Experience of retail, preferably e-Commerce and/or multi-channel and an understanding of the technologies and associated issues in this environment
· The ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
· Proactivity and be highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills
· A track record of over-seeing successful software deployments
· A flexible approach and neither dogmatic nor bureaucratic when deploying QA disciplines into an inexperienced business
· An analytical approach, tenacious and driven by results
Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring the technical direction of the QA team in liaison with the Lead QA ensuring that the team are aware of the importance of principles of good software design and development
· Improving the quality of the code by ensuring we have 100% test coverage and no code hot spots
· Ensuring that QA standards and principles are followed by performing peer reviews of the tests and acceptance criteria
· Developing and mentoring the QA community including one to one mentoring where necessary
· Ensuring the features developed by the team are produced to the highest possible quality in the fastest possible time and no less, so that we are able to continue to do so in the future
· Improving the QA of the website and identify any functional, technical or performance problems providing suggestions for improvements
· Ensuring that the Agile Software Development Life Cycle is followed
· Improving, sharing and retaining critical in-depth knowledge of the systems developed and maintained by the company, such as the Website and all supporting services.

Hours of Work: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (flexible working is offered BUT core hours are 10am - 4pm but they are happy for you to work 8-4 / 9-5 / 10-6
