Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE – Benefits include pension, potential shares and bonus (to be discussed at interview)



This is a brand new position created due to company growth and you would report to the Global Development Manager.

 

The Company

 

The company provides a federated data application framework totally driven by metadata which helps turn client’s ‘big data’ into ‘smart data’. The framework is built on cutting-edge technologies that requires a talented and passionate DevOps Engineer to drive forwards with innovative ideas. The company has a presence in the UK, South Africa, USA and Australia.

 

What skills will you bring to the table?

 

·         You must have advanced Linux experience (RHEL / Centos and Debian) including networking and security

·         Bash Scripting

·         Virtualization (VirtualBox, Hyper-V)

·         Ansible (including Jinja templating)

·         CI / CD experience (Bamboo, Jenkins, Travis, GitLab or TeamCity)

·         Git experience (branching, merging, rebasing)

·         Docker and Docker Compose

·         Kubernetes

·         Experience of highly clustered solutions / environments

 

Nice to have skills?

 

·           SQL experience (MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB etc.)

·           Additional provisioning experience (Chef / Puppet)

·           ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) experience

 

The client is looking for an experienced DevOps  Engineer  to take ownership of the internal and client facing DevOps area for the company including management of releases and automation.  The engineer will need to pro-actively maintain and improve the DevOps area. This role has the possibility to develop into a senior DevOps Engineer/Manager role dependant on performance; it is the perfect role for an engineer looking to take on more ownership of the DevOps processes and to be part of bleeding-edge scale-up.

Additional information:

Hours or Work: 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday – flexible working offered AFTER probation
