Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
Our client is seeking a passionate and engaging people leader to be responsible for the warehouse and distribution operation including:
· Safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of Finished Goods and Spare Parts
· Efficient and cost effective management of goods
· Maintaining a strong health and safety culture
· Leading a team with a “customer first” mind set, and skilfully balancing this with continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, cost-control and improved productivity
Experience and Qualifications:
· Previous warehouse management experience and prior experience in managing a team
· Suitable tertiary qualifications in Business or Logistics Management or equivalent
· White goods/domestic appliance handling would be highly advantageous
Role responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership
· Supports the Head of Operations in the implementation of logistics initiatives and global logistics policies
· Drives operational excellence through a weekly cadence and effective RARs/1-2-1s
· Takes responsibility for establishing and aligning a culture which demonstrates the company’s step up behaviours, acting as a brand ambassador and upholding the company image at all times
· Leads the recruitment, and development of warehouse personnel, ensuring the acquisition of talent has the critical capabilities needed to deliver to the company’s strategy
· Provide reports, analysis and insights to create transparency across the operation
· Work collaboratively with the Home & Trade Delivery Manager, Head of CEX, Demand Planner, Sales and Product leaders to raise the profile of Warehouse operations and effectively manage stakeholder expectations to deliver a luxury premium customer experience
Warehouse Operations
· Responsible for the warehousing and distribution operation ensuring the efficient and cost effective supply and management of goods
· Responsible for the implementation of global logistics policies and strategies at a warehouse level & ensure staff are trained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with defined roles and responsibilities
· Responsible for the security of stock and assets by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
· Managing systems, structures and processes to optimize the handling, storage and transportation of product
· Drive a results oriented operation focused on operational KPI’s that drives accountability and operational improvements, reviewing warehouse performance to identify improvements and reduce cost
· Responsible for ensuring the delivery of correct training and product handling practices to ensure product damage is below acceptable limit
· Responsible for resource planning to meet throughput demand and operational KPI’s
· Lead regular team meetings to align objectives and ensure deliverables and KPI’s are on track, are being met on time and the team understands how their actions influence results
· Perform warehouse audits and inspections ensuring 5s standards, quality, operational and H&S controls are in place and adhered to
Financial Responsibility
· Responsible for the warehouse expenses, reporting and analysis on key drivers
· Responsibility and approval for all inventory adjustments
· Responsible for the effective management and cost accountability of warehouse labour, including FTE overtime, annual leave, and casual labour, ensuring productivity targets are met
Health & Safety
· Has an understanding of and ensures compliance with all health, safety and environmental (HSE) legislation including Chain of Responsibility, regulations, and Codes of Practice, as well as the company Health and Safety Policy, Standards and codes of practice relevant to position and area of responsibility.
· Demonstrates positive and visible H&S leadership behaviour and leads by example.
· Works closely with the in-market H&S Advisor and takes an active role in ensuring H&S requirements are implemented and followed across warehouses.
· Ensures all employees, contractors and visitors are managed to those standards by providing effective supervision and training.
· Ensures all activities of the warehouse & logistics operation is performed in compliance with country regulations and laws governing business.
· Accurately and promptly record incidents, near misses, or inventory issues that pose a health & safety concern and assist in investigations to prevent reoccurrence as required.
· Lead the implementation of HSE improvements nationally.
· Proactively engaging in or lead HSE by organising and attending training, workshops or meetings (e.g. H&S Committee) as appropriate with positive contribution in continual improvement of HSE.
