Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer [Azure]
Location: Home Based with some travel
Essential is a thorough understanding of Azure PaaS components. Key areas:
- AKS (deployment + management)
- APP Management
- App Services
- Azure SQL and MI
- Functions
- Networking
- App Insights
Proven experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
Solid understanding of:
- Terraform (desired) / Bicep / Pulumi
- HELM charts
- PowerShell / Azure CLI
Advantageous:
- Healthcare or Government related industry experience
- Understanding of JIRA and Confluence
Required qualifications / Industry Accreditations:
Microsoft certification(s) in Azure, such as AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-303/4

Due to expansion, highly skilled individuals are required to help continue the adoption of Azure-native services and contribute to the building of best-of-breed scalable SaaS platforms.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- 4+ years enterprise experience with Azure
- A passion for cloud technologies, with strong problem solving and critical thinking, good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Working at the sharp end of the existing DevOps team, the individual will have a strong influence and diverse workload covering (but not limited to):
- Mentoring more junior staff
- Automation of infrastructure and software rollout using Azure DevOps pipelines, including quality gates such as peer reviews
- Design and develop Infrastructure, using an IaC approach
- Design and develop automated scaling and failover using deep health checks and insights
- Work closely with other departments, such as Development and Architecture, to ensure that Azure technologies are being used correctly
- Work closely with other departments, such as Ops and TechOps, to facilitate the smooth running of the cloud services by providing utilities/dashboards/scripts etc
- Work closely with the Security teams to analyse and help remediate on internal and SoC flagged issues, along with assisting in internal vulnerability checks/ethical hacking
- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and advising on how they could be used to better the existing architecture (this may also include PoC)
- Continuous improvement and testing of DR/BCP to ensure high availability
- Comfortable in taking part in architectural discussions with technical / non-technical team members
- Able to self-manage and self-motivate
- An eye for detail and a desire to adhere to best practices
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Have a desire to keep up with the latest tools and techniques
