Salary: up to £45,000
Our client provide clinical system solutions to the NHS, very successfully. To that end and team expansion, they are seeking a QA Team Lead to be based in either their Warrington or Nottingham offices.
As the QA Team Lead, you will provide guidance, direction and Quality Assurance with regards to end user expectations, use models and workflows associated with your respective module areas providing in-depth knowledge and experience to the Development team, and occasionally the Deployment and Support teams and externally with customers.
The QA Team Lead will collaborate with SMEs and QA Analysts in the development and maintenance of test cases, test plans and other test materials. They will also work alongside QAs and SMEs to execute tests and report on the states of testing for specific product releases to assure the quality of software before external release.
Whilst they will leverage their expertise to oversee that QA processes are followed over multiple modules, over time it is expected that their expertise in a broader range of modules and products will be developed to support flexibility within the teams and provide broader product knowledge.
Primary responsibilities:
In addition to your current role and responsibilities as a QA Analyst, the QA Team Lead will be required to:
· Resolve conflicts across people, resources, environments and processes
· Be a mentor to other QA Analysts
· Drive motivation
Education, Experience & Skills
Whilst it is accepted that the individual education and experience profile for QA Team Lead will vary, the following is provided as a guideline:
· 4 years professional experience in an appropriate role in an NHS hospital (e.g. nursing or pharmacist)
· Must include one of the following:
- Involvement in the delivery of training
- Configuration
- Preparation of user documentation and standard operating procedures
- Implementation of software releases
The postholder must have knowledge/experience of:
· NHS informatics experience
· SAFe® skills, principles and practices
· System analysis, design, development, testing, release, support & maintenance best practice and lifecycles
· NHS and wider Healthcare market / suppliers / competitors
The postholder must have the following skills:
· Ability to organise and co-ordinate areas of work for yourself and others
· Excellent team leadership skills including team building and coaching of individual staff
· Ability to balance working closely with the product team as when needed with a degree of autonomy.
· Working knowledge of MS Office Products

Standards & Best Practice:
Alongside the QA Manager, the QA Team Lead helps define testing strategies to ensure that all product and solutions conform to company standards. The QA Lead will create validation / test plans and evaluates the team throughout the PI to help identify areas where improvement can be made. In doing so, you will encourage good collaboration, interaction and communication between the QAs across the business.
Risk Management
As there is always a certain level of risk involved in releasing new software or services, the QA Team Lead will help identify risks and create plans to mitigate it
Process Improvement
The QA Team Lead will hold team meetings to discuss best practices and better ways of working, in addition they will communicate initiatives that will result in process improvements with particular emphasis on driving up the accuracy, efficiency, quality and the usability of products.
Management Reporting
Throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle, the QA Team Lead will
proactively report progress, mitigating actions and risks to the QA Manager and other key stakeholders.
