Salary: £22,000 to £26,000
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to provide general support to the Accounts Department and to assist with the financial accounting and reporting activities.
This is a full-time, permanent position, reporting to the Financial Account. The team are operating on a hybrid basis, with some travel to our offices in Milton Keynes and Bookham expected.
Experience & Skills:
· Preferably Accounts experience in a similar role
· Good level of IT literacy including Excel (Intermediate – would be an advantage)
· Experience of using multi systems, knowledge of QuickBooks and SharePoint (would be an advantage)
· Strong financial control skills and being able to work to deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance staff and communicate at all levels of the business
Responsibilities:
· Daily Bank reconciliations
· Posting and preparing Sales invoices
· Credit control
· Processing employee expenses
· Credit card reconciliations
· Preparing fortnightly suppliers’ payment run.
· Assisting with the weekly cash flow scorecard and forecasting future cash flow
· Calculating the tax reclaim on fuel to feed into the VAT Return
· Assisting the Financial Accountant with the preparation of posting prepayments, accruals and other general ledger journal entries
· Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and assisting with the calculation of monthly depreciation
· Monitoring company expenditure and raising POs in accordance with company procedure
· Helping prepare intercompany recharges and assisting inter-companies related tasks
· Helping to reconcile the Balance Sheet to ensure accuracy
· Working with the Marketing Team to reconcile the Marketing budget and forecast
· Assisting the Financial Accountant with information to feed into the production of budget and forecast
· Liaising with Suppliers for any queries that may arise
· Assisting in general office admin tasks, including answering the phone, filling, and general office work.
