Our client is a growing logistics provider based in Northampton.

ROLE
In this role, the successful Business Development Manager will be acting in a highly autonomous role, where you will be taking charge of your own Business Development activities. This is a client relationship focused role where you will be working on Business lead prospecting and providing potential Customer assessments as you work on building up and maintaining a successful portfolio of clients.
A ‘Hands On’ role to be primarily responsible for winning and developing new business and promoting the Company’s Export / Import logistics business.
The role will require the Business Development Manager (BDM) to manage their own diary, follow up leads and drive new business activity, attend client meetings with a national remit and support development of business relationships.
In Summary:
· Generating sales through new Business Development
· Building and maintaining successful relationships with Clients
· Managing Client Accounts
· Prospecting and assessing new business leads
· Travelling to Client sites
· Communicating with in/outbound leads via multiple channels (phone, email and social media) - Collaborating closely with team members on finding ways to improve team performance and exceed sales targets.
· Reviewing your sales performance to meet or exceed the monetary/volume targets set
· Liaising with the Company Directors to solidify sales forecasting for the business on a weekly/monthly basis
REQUIRMENTS AND BACKGROUND
· The ideal BDM will have worked within the freight industry previously and have an understanding of Export / Import procedures and documentary requirements.
· The BDM will have proven record within sales and have a commercial approach to understanding new business and client needs.
Job Title: Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager
Location: Could be home-based with occasional travel to Northampton, or could be on-site all the time, quite flexible, but must hold a valid driving licence
Salary: £37,500 to £45,000 + profit related commission, company car / car allowance, laptop, mobile, company pension
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
