Working for a successful manufacturing company in Milton Keynes.
Maintenance Engineer main requirements:
Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician;
Strong understanding of electrics/ mechanics;
Be happy to work as part of a team or independently;
Happy to constantly grow and develop on their skills;
Good level of fitness and able to climb steps / ladders if required;
Computer literate;
Must hold an engineering qualification. Qualified Maintenance Engineer to Level 3 or above engineering qualification - Mechanical or Electrical, e.g., BTEC, NVQ.
Maintenance Engineer main responsibilities:
Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime;
Conducting and overseeing maintenance process including preventive maintenance and using the company software to track work and spare parts;
Investigate equipment failure to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations;
Establishing maintenance procedures and protocols;
Responding to major equipment breakdowns in timely manner;
Forecasting and planning for system overhauls and upgrades, while taking into account long-term maintenance costs;
Identify and qualify equipment suppliers and contractor resources
Liaise and build relationship with external contractors (eg for HVAC, LEV, electrical work and compressed air);
Schedule maintenance resources and contractors to repair equipment, building/grounds and install new equipment
Work with operations team to manage quarterly budgets for maintenance, improvements, equipment updates etc;
Setting, monitoring and tracking maintenance KPIs;
Assist with any projects within manufacturing environment (building work, process layout change, system change, equipment upgrades etc.)
Supervision of visitors/external contractors as required;
Work on continuous improvement (warehouse, production) to improve overall process flow and overall use of equipment.
Carry out or arrange facility related checks and maintenance
Keep equipment log, facility log and spares list up to date;
Manage spares stock to have appropriate parts available - issue, replace and re-order spare parts where required.
Ensure employees and subcontractors working on equipment do so in a safe manner and in compliance to procedures and regulations and are licenced as required;
Other duties as may be required, including ability to travel and work away from home for short periods of time.
