Home Based: Milton Keynes area with 1-2 days a week in Central MK office
Our client specialises in insight and data management services for wholesalers, their retail and catering customers and FMCG suppliers into the wholesale channel within the grocery industry.
They have an exemplary reputation for delivering leading-edge route to market insights via market research and/or sales data analysis to drive business growth. They also offer highly functional sales reporting platforms and custom tech solutions and have a reputation for exceptional customer service.
Key Purpose of the Role:
The company wishes to extend its reach and revenue within the wholesale channel, particularly amongst suppliers. They have over 700 distinct users on their platforms as well as a proven track record of delivering valued insight consultancy and market research, which is supported by client testimony.
Having secured long-term contracts with a large number of wholesalers and some FMCG suppliers to deliver technology and insight services, the company now has a platform from which to grow. The key purpose of this role is to work within the Client Services Team with a focus on data and reporting. The post holder will build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders and encourage users to engage with more services. The postholder will showcase reporting and insight capabilities and also build and maintain a suite of reports for VIP users and influencers. Some internal reporting will also be required to support decision making and KPI tracking.
Personal Profile
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will have graduate level aptitude along with at least 2 years business experience, ideally in FMCG grocery. This will be underpinned by advanced Excel and data presentation skills.
Key Attributes
· Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
· Likeable and engaging, with a track record of developing good professional relationships.
· Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
· Experience with querying data via Power BI, Cognos, Access or similar front end application.
· Highly comfortable and competent with IT systems and data reporting tools, which have been used effectively and regularly in previous roles.
· Aptitude for interpreting result sets and creating recommendations.
· Experience of working with IRI, Nielsen or Kantar data would be an advantage.
· Comfortable taking ownership for personal actions and decisions.
· High level of personal drive.
· High level of literacy and numeracy with strong attention to detail.
· Personal values of honesty and hard work that match with company values and culture.
Key Accountabilities
Working closely to ensure users are getting the most out of the platforms or supporting colleagues to deliver market research or insight consultancy projects, the post-holder will:
· Develop excellent working relationships with clients and platform users based on being pro-active and reactive to their needs.
· Working with senior internal stakeholders to support the delivery of market research projects including briefing agencies, collating result sets and building PowerPoint reports under supervision.
· Creating and delivering Excel based reporting to platform users on an ad hoc or regular basis
· Building and maintaining a strong professional relationship with key stakeholders client side to support effective contract renewals by ensuring commercial and service KPIs are met.
· Working with the Development team to ensure data quality and accuracy is maintained, including the production and monitoring of KPI reports to benchmark service levels.
· Working effectively with senior colleagues, supporting co-workers as required to ensure deliverables are achieved on time, accurately and in line with brand guidelines.
· Create and monitor site user stats and implement strategies to build engagement.
· Supporting co-workers to provide training when required to new users so that they are competent and confident SmartView users.
· Supporting managers to upsell data packages or broader solutions to users by engaging users, undertaking demonstrations, helping to specify custom reporting or identifying opportunities and supporting the management team through the upselling process.
· Attend client events and conferences as required to discover more about the company market and/or to promote the company and its services.
