You will be a full-time Android Developer working with the company’s own Android based devices, generic Smartphones and Tablets.
This is an opportunity to take a lead role and make your mark in this lucrative and very desirable industry sector. As a key Senior Developer, you will be required to take on responsibility for design integrations, development and deployment of new device features and fixes.
Critical Criteria:
· 7+ years commercial experience working with Android in a development role
· The ability to maintain software and software-based systems
· Ability to develop and test software against defined specifications
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Think logically and be a self-motivated problem solver
· Able to work independently
· Determine workload priorities
· Be a University graduate or equivalent with strong experience in the following:
o Java Programmer proficient in Android development
o Working within the constraints of a wide range of Android versions
o Android Studio
o Android SDK
o Knowledge of Android UI/UX design
o Gradle (build tool)
o XML
o JSON
o SQLite
o GIT
o Experience of writing unit tests
Desirable Criteria
· GitHub for versioning control
· Bluetooth experience (both Classic and BLE)
· Liaison with the Device embedded development team
· Writing supporting documentation
· Experience of working to IEC 62304 or other regulatory / safety-critical software development lifecycle processes
Responsibilities
· Software development, verification, documentation and maintenance of medical grade Android Apps utilising latest technologies and Android versions
· To work with Apps built around older versions of Android and add functionality, or remove technical debt, refactor and bring the App in-line with the latest Android versions using latest techniques, libraries, and tools where possible.
· Liaising with other team members on technical software matters
· Maintaining the security, integrity and confidentiality of data and information to which you are provided access during the course of your work.
