As a Warehouse General Manager, you'll be responsible for a vital part of the Business supply chain and warehousing process. You'll manage a team of a Manager / Supervisors / Operators and a Driver, processes and systems to ensure freight shipments are received and dispatched appropriately and that productivity targets are met daily. You'll also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and stock.
The Terminal is a neutral customs and logistics service provider operating from a 15,000 Square foot facility. they tailor their services for Multi-Modal Import & Export, E-commerce Logistics, Excisable goods, B2B/B2C/C2C consignments, Reverse Logistics, and more. An HMRC Licenced Broker warehouse like theirs, is fully bonded by HMRC with numerous Customs Compliance Licences that require a hands-on, experienced person who has worked no less than 5 years in fully bonded and ETSF operator warehouses before that will be required to take ownership of the Warehouse Customs Compliance and handling of Terminal Import / Export and Excise freight.

WORK EXPERIENCE
· Proven Experience working in a team and dealing with managing teams of up to 10 to 20 staff
· Have proven Customs Compliance knowledge ( BIFA / HMRC / CDS / ASM / DESTIN8 / CNS / CCS-UK / NCTS / EMCS / GVMS)
· ETSF / BONDED / EXCISE warehouse management for a minimum of 5 years, with the ability to create operational procedures and standards to ensure effective management is in place for the managing of Import/Export shipments and Excise goods in conjunction with HMRC compliance requirements
· Having forklift licences ( B1, B2, B3 )
· Health & Safety / Fire and Risk Assessments management
· Transport & Vehicle Planning Management (plan and dispatch driver for collections)
· Administration Management experience (appraisals/documentation filing/ holiday calendar / weekly schedule volume forecast planning/ roster)
· Microsoft Office packs knowledge.
· Certifications and accreditations of General warehouse management
· DG handling

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies as UK Border Force / HMRC
· Be BIFA and RHA compliant
· Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods as per the standards set by the Senior Management for NG Terminal in conjunction with HMRC.
· Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met at all times
· Have a clear understanding of the Company's policies and vision and how the Warehouse contributes to these
· Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems
· Respond to and deal with customer communication by email and telephone
· Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
· Plan future capacity requirements to enhance the capacity of the Warehouse to accommodate business needs
· Organize the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress ( appraisals/training/ development/ disciplinary)
· Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
· Brief team leaders daily and ensure all tasks are completed and the warehouse operation is managed and overseen
· Ensure warehouse team inbound and outbound freight as per the HRMC Compliance procedure on time to avoid congestion
· Manage and deal with Customs Import/Export shipments and UK BF inspections
· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring the warehouse ground floor is always free of Fire and Health and Safety hazards
· Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, equipment and the Warehouse overall
· Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems.

Working hourstypically will include early starts, late finishes, weekends and shift work. Manager will work a more conventional week but may do longer hours when necessary to meet the needs of their role. So, full flexibility for this role is required. Working hours will be heavier in high seasons, such as the Festive UK season. The role requires flexible hours of work. The role requires flexible work hours on a shift pattern as agreed with the board of Directors. The Terminal Opening hours are 09:00h to 21:00h, Monday to Sunday.
