Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience + 25 days holiday + bank holidays, birthday off, pension, gym, healthcare and more

To be successful in this role you must have experience in / of the following:
· Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies including:
o TCP/IP
o IS-IS/BGP/OSPF
o MPLS
o MP-BGP
o L2 & L3 VPN services
· Minimum equivalent knowledge of a 2nd or 3rd line Network Engineer with 7 years’ experience as a Network Engineer
· Experience of working with Service Provider Networks
· Ability to hold a senior position within the team with the ability to handle escalations
· Liaise with internal stakeholders with limited interaction with customers – excellent communication skills required
· Strong troubleshooting ability including strong knowledge of network traffic analysing tools like Wireshark/TCPDump
· Experience designing and updating core infrastructure is highly preferred, however, a candidate that is able to demonstrate the ability to transition from network support may be suitable also
· There is an on-call rota where you will be asked to be on-call for a 24-hour period, ONCE every 5 weeks for which there is a compensation payment of 5% on your hourly rate
Desirable knowledge and experience:
· Working knowledge of SDN concepts
· Layer-2 / EVPN / VXLAN Data Centre networks, Leaf-Spine architectures
· Experience with BGP Peering, Transit
· Knowledge of F5 BIP-IP products, including Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM), Application Security Manager (ASM)
· DDoS mitigation solutions
Overall purpose of the job:
We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work within the Core Network team. Your focus will predominantly be designing, and implementing projects pertaining to the Core Network Infrastructure. You will be responsible for documenting the network design as well as providing a handover to your peers so that the solution can be maintained by the Operations team.
You will also be acting as an escalation point for incidents concerning core network infrastructure/services. You will be working closely with team members whilst providing mentoring where required for Core Network Operations engineers, as well as working with other internal teams.
Key responsibilities for this job:
Projects
· Design, document and implement core network infrastructure
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time
· Provide a handover to your peers so that the infrastructure can be supported by the Operations team
Operations
· Troubleshoot and resolve network issues within SLA
· Act as a senior escalation point for team members and internal teams for incidents, requests and changes following existing ITIL based processes and procedures.
· Due to the nature of the role you will be expected to fulfil some of your tasks out of hours and participate in the on-call rota for 24/7 support.
