Salary: up to £40,000 + benefits



Our client have been established for over 30 years and provide technical solutions for a wide range of construction requirements.

 

Our clients’ factory is bespoke and would benefit someone who has experience in Lean Manufacturing and exposure to CAD drawings. You will manage 10-13 people so experience managing a similar sized team would be desirable.

 

Job Summary:

 

You will ensure that the Companies production schedules are delivered on time and provide excellent customer service through the prompt production and delivery of products to our customers. You will lead and train a team of people to continuously achieve improvements in quality and Leadtime.

 

Production Management

 

·         To build products to the correct specification and quality on time and in full without defects.

·         Co-ordinate with Planning, Purchasing, Customer Service, Project Design and Transport on a continuous basis to link all resources together in the correct delivery of the production plan.

·         Anticipate/identify problems occurring within your area and resolve these in an appropriate manner by assigning corrective actions to your team, provide feedback to production management of any production or staffing issues that will affect impact on customer service or delivery dates.

·         Constantly adjust production capacity to demand ensuring lead times are kept low whilst balancing the needs for extra labour or overtime are not excessive and unwarranted.

·         To organise appropriate training for your team, such that cover is available for product mix fluctuations, sickness and holiday periods and that any leavers do not affect our capability.

·         To manage your team professionally and proactively to ensure they are aware of all procedures, processes and daily plans and free to seek assistance as required in a co-operative manner.

·         To keep all work areas tidy, and free from debris, organised and free from danger, ensuring that all staff always comply with the health and safety and environmental regulations.

·         Ensure pallet floor space is maximised and that all scrap is promptly processed for recycling.

 

Working with the Project Design Consultant, CAD and Estimating Manager and Operations Team:

 

·         Create and maintain a design manual covering all standard finishes and design options, achievable process tolerances, and references to industry standards linked to production approved drawings with all subsequent revisions recorded on an agreed version control system

·         Ensure that quotation costings are accurate and deliverable by Operations by monitoring production timings and resources, recording costings versus actual production costs and presenting variance analysis to identify lessons learnt and improvement actions

·         Identify new manufacturing techniques and materials that meet our customers’ needs and are commercially viable for introduction and use.

 

Personal specification:

 

·         Ability to manage people, develop staff and create a highly capable team

·         An ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work to meet deadlines

·         Good level of numeracy and literacy is required for this role

·         Good communication skills

·         Honest and respectful

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

·         Knowledge of health and safety regulations would be beneficial

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and ERP production software

£33,000 to £40,000 depending on experience, annual performance bonus, Pension Scheme, Life Assurance, employee assistance programme, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, birthday leave.



Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm with a one hour unpaid lunch break, or 8.00am to 4.30pm with half an hour unpaid lunch break
