Essential:
Broad understanding of building and construction industry, products and regulations
Some knowledge of TEST within the construction products industry
Experience working directly or indirectly in a UKAS accredited Test laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) and/or product development/R&D environment
Product testing/technical background in building and construction or related industry
Within Building & Construction Industry and/or product testing/R&D
Commercial awareness
Excellent time management
Identify new opportunities, i.e. markets, clients, products & services
Presenting/Public speaking
Good networking skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with strong negotiation skills
Purpose of Job
The purpose of the job is to deliver consistent, sustainable, profitable growth in sales revenues across the sectors, products and services that you are responsible for, throughout the UK and internationally. Consistently achieve high levels of client satisfaction and trust and identify new commercial and sales opportunities. Support the Business Unit Head & Commercial Director to develop, implement and deliver new commercial and sales strategies and plans. Achieve the sales targets and key growth objectives allocated, and operate collaboratively to the benefit of the Group.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Deliver sales targets in an ethical manner.
Maintain an overview and insight of all client accounts.
Provide clients with quotations in collaboration with Contracts Manager.
Negotiate Terms of Agreement, close sales and process new orders via sales admin.
Timely follow-up of enquiries, pending/open quotations and orders
Manage and report sales pipeline, i.e. opportunities, quotes and orders
Arrange visits/calls with existing and potential new clients.
Optimise cross-selling of products and services across all Business Units.
Gather market and client information and provide feedback on buying trends.
Explores and analyses market trends and identifies new opportunities relevant to business unit(s).
Identify new markets, products/services and business opportunities.
Support the Business Unit Head – Test & Commercial Director in developing strategies to improve sales, profits, client satisfaction and market share in a sustainable way.
Support and collaborate with other Sales Managers and teams across business units and products sectors to promote test services and win new business
Represent organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, potential clients, trade associations and other relevant organisations.
Collaborate with the Business Unit Head and Marketing team to implement the marketing and sales plan through efficient promos and communication.
Preparation and monitoring of sales KPIs and activity log
Attend weekly sales and monthly commercial review meetings
Input to budget preparation.
Review your own sales performance.
