Purpose of the role:
The Conversion Analyst is a diligent and motivated individual with a persistent eye for detail who is responsible for customising and running data conversions primarily for clients, when capacity or business needs dictate, ensuring that all imported data is of the highest possible quality and integrity.
The Conversion Analyst will have advanced data handling skills and be able to think both logically and laterally in order to resolve issues with client data and service client data requests within the organisation’s deployment model.
The Conversion Analyst will work under the supervision of the Conversion Development Team Lead and with the other Conversion Analysts and Developers to build, configure and deploy conversions for various source systems. In addition, they will work closely with the Operations team to ensure a client’s data conversion is carried out within the standard onboarding process.
Duties include:
Generation and documentation of attribute mapping matrices for existing converter scripts and spreadsheet imports.
Running of conversions using internal Conversion Framework and generated mapping matrices.
Data integrity checks and clean-up tasks on imported data.
Creation of custom SQL extractor scripts for clients as authorised by the Operations.
Creation and documentation of SQL extractor scripts for previously unknown source systems.
General advice to the Sales and Client Success teams regarding scope of data conversions and imports.
Conversions are regularly run on weekends, the role will be part of a rota basis 5 days out of 7, which may include weekends and bank holidays.
Essential Experience
• Use of Microsoft Excel to an advanced level (including VBA macros)
• Use of SQL to a high intermediate level with both MySQL and MS SQL Server systems
• Data and statistical analysis
• General understanding of ODBC architecture
• Some database management / design
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable Experience
• Knowledge of C#, PHP and FoxPro programming languages
• Knowledge of PowerShell
• Use of SQL with Microsoft Access
• Knowledge of Power Query
• Client-facing IT Support
• Work in an Agile Project Management environment
• Knowledge of ITIL standards and objectives
