Rare opportunity to join this fantastic organisation based in Milton Keynes (free parking).

 

You will work as part of the workshop team with the workshop supervisor and field staff (or specialists) in the workshop as appropriate.

The role will involve providing a high quality service to individuals and departments to deliver a consistently high level of customer care and to maintain exceptionally high standards in the repair of instruments returned to the workshop.

The key purpose of this role is to ensure that our customers both internal and external receive excellent service: Communication with both customers and colleagues, update of call logs, repair and testing of faulty analysers and run up and preparation of IT products or analysers for installation as well as daily workshop duties.

The Workshop Engineer will perform their job functions not only in line with the company’s expectations, but will actively define new, higher standards.

Qualifications Education and Training

 

Essential

 

·         HNC or equivalent in electronic and mechanical engineering

 

Desirable

 

·         Understanding & experience on hydraulic and pneumatic principles

·         Technical experience on Haematology related instrumentation

·         Technical experience on Haemostasis related instrumentation

·         Experience on any laboratory diagnostic equipment

·         Hold a full driving licence

 

Skills, Knowledge and Aptitudes

 

·         Technical fault finding & problem solving techniques

·         Report writing, good level of written English and attention to detail

·         Reading & understanding of technical diagrams

·         Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines

·         Excellent Communication skills, enabling them to communicate effectively at all levels

·         Previous working experience in a customer facing role (Part time, full time or work-experience)

·         Must have experience of using Microsoft office products

 

Desirable

 

·         Experience of working within a team

·         Knowledge of diagnostic instrumentation

·         Basic understanding of IT hardware & software skills
